PRESENTER:Jacqueline Rhoades, Infrastructure Director At the August 25, 2026 City Council workshop, the City team presented a series of revenue increase scenarios for updated water, sewer, and stormwater rates and bimonthly service fees for 2027 to support the delivery of the capital improvement plan. City Council directed the City team to return with the Water Fund scenario that is reflected in the attached ordinance. The City’s Infrastructure Department continues to prepare for investments in operations and infrastructure as part of our ongoing commitment to continue to provide reliable water, sewer, and stormwater drainage services to our community. This work aligns with the Infrastructure Priority Area of the City Council Strategic Plan, specifically Infrastructure Work System Service 1: Provides the community with a safe, resilient, high-quality water supply, drainage system, wastewater disposal, and solid waste management services for full city build-out, as defined by the Comprehensive Plan. This work also aligns with the principle that the City maintains utility rates at the lowest practical levels, with accurate billing that supports robust and reliable infrastructure. The ordinance before the City Council will adjust Water Rates and Bimonthly Service Fees for 2027. The attached ordinance will increase water volumetric rates by 8% and bimonthly service fees by $4.00 for an overall revenue increase of 9.2% for 2027. This will increase the typical in-city single-family water bill by $70.80 per year ($11.80 per bimonthly bill or $5.90 per month). Bimonthly fixed fee revenues are recommended to increase over time to manage the revenue impacts experienced during times of decreased water use due to unpredictable weather patterns. The Arvada team recommends that the City Council approve CB26-032, An Ordinance Amending Various Sections of Chapter 102, Utilities, of the Arvada City Code Pertaining to Water Users Rates and Bimonthly Service Charges (Public Hearing to be set for October 20, 2026).

What it covers: the record exactly as the official source publishes it — its identifiers (bill number, session, jurisdiction), its official title and long title, its official summary, its status, its sponsors in published order, every recorded action, every recorded vote, and the link to each official text version — assembled in a fixed canonical form described on the How this data works page.
The fingerprint does not cover our retrieval date (the “Data as of” stamp in the source line): re-fetching unchanged official content produces the same fingerprint, while any change to the official content changes it.
If you recompute the fingerprint from the official source and get a different value, one of us is out of date — please report it through the corrections log.
