PRESENTER: Bryan Archer CFO The current language of Section 59-3 codifies a $50.00 administrative processing fee associated with the filing of certifications of debt or liens with the county treasurer. Recently, Jefferson County, Colorado increased its filing fees for those wishing to file a certification of debt or a lien. Due to this recent filing fee increase, the $50.00 administrative processing fee that the City charges to file liens will not be enough to cover the City's costs. If approved, the new section 59-3 will serve to increase the administrative processing fee and will also establish the fee in a fee schedule. The administrative processing fee's inclusion in a fee schedule will also allow the city to be more agile in responding to future fee increases at the county level. The Arvada team recommends that the City Council approve An Ordinance Repealing and Reenacting Section 59-3, Statement of Costs or Assessments, of Chapter 59, Municipal Liens, of the Arvada City Code to Account for Increased Administrative Costs in Processing Municipal Liens.
